Rare art and filthy sex in Janus spanking magazine

I love spanking artwork, and while I enjoy spanking stories, I prefer them when they also contain sex – years ago I did a long series of posts chronicling instances of cuckolding in classic spanking magazines. Fortunately, as I trawl through the extensive magazine archives available on the Spanking Art Wiki, there is much that satisfies my needs.

Plenty of Janus stories go beyond spanking, either explicitly or through a naughty little hint at the end. In 'The Wedding Present' (Janus 111), a bride's father gifts his new son-in-law the whip and cane with which she was raised... and they find his advice quite true in that it 'improves the wedding night'.

The idea of a 'family implement' such as a hairbrush, strap or martinet being passed down through the generations is rather delicious... especially when it's also used on the wives (or, depending on the household, the husbands).

In 'The Fortunes of War' (Janus 125) a British pilot stationed in France during the war is enlisted to give English lessons to a farmer's daughter. She soon goads him into spanking her and whipping her with her mother's martinet, and cuts a birch for him to use on her before they finally make love...

...Before his squadron is reassigned and they never see each other again.

Outside France at least, extramarital sex is strictly forbidden for young ladies in Janus stories... and engaging in it presents an excellent excuse for the older generation to indulge in their secret love of dishing out corporal punishment!

Though Hardcastle's illustrations for 'Friday Night is Hell Night' are commonly seen online, I don't believe I have ever seen the second one from its sequel, 'Misbehaviour in the Green Room' (Janus 73), where the strict keeper of a boarding house for female university students regularly canes her young charges... usually for misdemeanours involving their boyfriends!

The young lady in 'Making a Splash' (Janus 107) certainly needs a good hiding...

And then something else after...

In 'Simon and the Lioness Theatre Company' (Janus 111) three young actresses ask a very obliging older man to take care of their discipline, with the rule being that he can whip one of them if the other two demand it.

And looking at these pictures I bet you can guess which of the three ends up kneeling between his legs at the end..

Of course the ladies in F/F stories can be just as filthy – and in truth these stories are often more fun to read than their M/F equivalents.

'The Summerhouse' in Janus 65 is positively pornographic, especially for the earlier issues (where the content was strong, but often understated), with some never-seen art very reminiscent of Rebecca. Sharon's French stepmother catches her in Sapphic spanking games with an old school chum and spanks them both...

Before they turn the tables and whip her with her own belt!

There's plenty of 'Funny Business' going on at a certain female-led magazine in Janus 131...

A misjudged humorous article earns a young journalist a good belt-whipping from her boss...

Before she is required to report for a SEVERE flogging by the local politician who was the target of her article (with her boss getting punished too for letting it happen!)

Though she does receive some comfort by seducing her boss's secretary, who is eager for a sore bottom of her own!

In 'Bottom of the Class' (Janus 136) things get rather kinky at an evening class, with one woman teasing the tutor until he gives her the belt after everyone has left – except for a prim-and-proper librarian who is usually top of the class...

She goes home with her classmate to soothe her belted bottom - which earns her a SEVERE caning from her own lover when she gets home!

And then the next week the pair of them get a dose of the strap after class!

In 'CP Radio' (Janus 133) a female shock jock takes things too far on her phone-in show about spanking and gets a sound spanking and belt-whipping from her producer. 

Her callers themselves are rather entertaining, particularly 'Brenda from the Isle of Wight' who recounts how her boyfriend has her dress in school uniform and write essays, with her missives on the joys of blowing him and wanking him off earning her particularly severe punishment!

The world of Janus was certainly one where men ruled the roost both at home and at work, and sleeping her way to the top was often the best (or only) way for a female employee to advance her career.

This smartly dressed young woman secured a sought-after management role after sleeping with one of the company executives, but when she takes a business trip her inexperience gets the better of her – and she finds out that in Singapore careless female employees are punished with the cane rather than the sack... 'Tropical Heat' indeed! (Janus 109)

In Janus 136 an accountant delivers 'Corrective Measures' to a company secretary after completing the annual audit, spanking her soundly across his lap before taking from behind as she bends over the filing cabinet...

You've almost certainly seen the second illustration of 'Insider Trading' (Janus 114), and in fact I recall it being one of the first (and finest) pieces of spanking artwork I found on the internet. But its predecessor in the story is also excellent, with the hint of an outline of Kate Humphries' womanly buttocks in her smart suit skirt as she awaits her punishment in front of the Board of Directors...

Though, as always, there are unfortunately no illustrations of what comes after...

She lay still, surprised and uncomprehending, yet glad of the gentle and unexpected massage as he continued to gently stroke her reddened cheeks with his palm. 'It Could Be You' in Janus 113 is another one of those dystopian/utopian futures that were rather common in the classic spanking magazines. Two young women are caned for gambling illegally...

And attempting to reduce their sentence only makes things worse...

'I've never been caned before, far less in public. Isn't there another way...?'

'Are you offering me a good time?' he asked, clear interest lighting up his eyes.

Chloe hesitated...

In 'General Fortunino's Conquest' (Janus 122) a young lady finds out that being mistress to a military man isn't all kisses and presents... as – in what must surely count as a tactical blunder – he punishes her soundly AFTER they make love and sends her away to be consoled by her girlfriend.

Though for all the historical settings, dodgy office discipline and patriarchal dystopian fantasies, many Janus stories focused on probably the most popular (and probably most realistic) spanking scenario... as steamy foreplay between man and wife. And sometimes there isn't even another man involved! This may look like a period piece, but it is actually a kinky couple engaging in some very in-depth dressing-up roleplay as a prelude to their lovemaking in 'Performing the Past' (Janus 116).

Though the maid's memories of previous punishments are rather authentic, especially the account of excited farm-girls admiring the buttocks of the very-much erect doctors' son after he's been soundly birched!

Very much in the honeymoon phase of a relationship, a young woman lets her new boyfriend spank, belt and cane her before sex in 'Beyond Compare' (Janus 142).

In 'Dancing With Your Toes Curled' (Janus 119) a newlywed couple enjoy admiring the results when two sisters stay with them while attending a strict finishing school where the cane is very much in use... the wife dropping to her knees to attend to her husband's reaction, and both of them retiring early to bed on those evenings!

Though sometimes historical methods meet modern sensibilities. In 'A Winter's Tale' (Janus 121) an English lord finally loses patience with his mischievous young wife and delivers a good spanking and horse-whipping in her bedroom, despite her attempts to distract him...

...she pushed herself against his ridge and added, 'Perhaps you would prefer me in a more receptive position?'

Lady Rebecca had misjudged Sir Redffern's determination and anyway, had he needed to mount her he could and would do that at any time. So, gripping her tightly around her waist, he set to with a will. 'CRACK, CRACK, CRACK, CRACK!!'...

She provides surprisingly responsive to such punishment however, even conspiring to get the maid involved...
